About Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport
Formerly known as Moisant Field, the New Orleans Louis Armstrong International Airport was officially renamed in 2001 to honor the New Orleans-native and jazz-legend Louis Armstrong. Established as a replacement airfield following WWII, the airport is located in the suburbs west of downtown New Orleans. Amenities and dining options at the New Orleans Louis Armstrong International Airport include snack bars and restaurants specializing in Creole, Cajun and classic New Orleans-style cuisine.
