Transfer to the city:

A taxicab ride costs $28.00 from the airport to the Central Business District (CBD) for one or two persons and $12.00 (per passenger) for three or more passengers. Pick-up is on the lower level, outside the baggage claim area. An airport shuttle runs to hotels in the CBD for $13.00 (per person, one-way). The Airport-Downtown Express (E-2) bus provides service from the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport in Kenner, down Airline Drive, into the New Orleans CBD. The bus picks up outside Entrance #7 on the upper level and runs every 15-20 minutes on weekdays and every 30 minutes on weekends, the last bus departing the airport at 7pm. The fare is $1.60 to the CBD.

Car rental companies represented at the airport include Alamo, Avis, Budget, Hertz, National and Thrifty.

Facilities:

Several restaurants, shops, cafes, ATMs and visitor information desks are available around the airport. Foreigners who will be in the country less than 90 days can claim tax back at Tax Free Counter located on the Upper Level of the main terminal. There is a bank in the Ticket Lobby which offers cash advances on credit cards, travellers cheques, money orders and foreign currency exchange. Also in the Ticket Lobby is a post office and a business centre which offers fax and photocopy facilities. Locker rental is no longer available due to security concerns. The nearby Hilton hotel has a gym and swimming pool. Disabled facilities are good; those with special needs should inform their airline in advance.
